The GLEBE  centre

The Wet room or 'Drinking Lounge' is a designated room within our centre for which service users with an alcohol misuse problem can consume restricted amounts of alcohol in a safe environment and can receive help and support to address their alcohol or other issues. The room is referral only and service users who wish to use it must agree to engage with the staff to address their consumption. The alcohol interventions are usually carried out on a one to one basis, however group sessions are available. A series of specifically designed tools are the main area that are worked on during each session and these allow the alcohol worker to better understand a service users drinking issues and the reasons for it, this can range from lack of appropriate accomodation to relationship problems or simply boredom and from this the staff can provide ongoing support for service users in these areas. The centre works closely with relevant agencies in the local area to provide options for service users should they require them.
