August 2011
Sunday, 14 August saw us hosting a visit from members of the
Erewash Valley Model Engineering Society, who brought some
impressive 5 " gauge and 7 1/.4" gauge steam and diesel
outline models to run on our raised and ground level tracks.
We extend thanks to the Erewash Valley members for their

March 2011
Our winter 2010 /2011 maintenance programme has included
re-constructing further sections of our 3 1/2" and 5" gauge

Our member Alex Barry has been awarded the David Birkett
Memorial Trophy as "Young Engineer of the Year 2010" . . . . .

September 2010
On 26 September, 2010, we received a visit from members of the
Erewash Model Engineering Society. This was an enjoyable
day in the company of fellow enthusiasts who brought eight
excellent models, both live steam and diesel outline to run on
our raised and low level tracks.

Our August 'Steam Up' was combined with an informal BBQ as saw
a good turn out of locos, members and visitors. |

June 2010
On Wednesday June 16 several of our members accepted an
invitation to run our models on the excellent track at the Rugeley Power Station Model Engineering Society. Their
extensive fully signalled raised track, landscaping and
complementary facilities were a great test for our steam
loco's and members taking their steam or diesel outline models
all enjoyed a very good day's running. We extend our
thanks to the Rugeley members who made us so welcome. |

On a sunny Sunday 6 June we were pleased to receive the annual
visit from our friends at the Avonvale Model Engineering
Society and the Derby Society of Model and Experimental

May 2010
Sunday 9 May saw us take up an invitation from the North West
Leicester Model Engineering Society to visit their track and
facilities at Whitwick, Near Coalville. Our members
enjoyed running their locomotives on the excellent NW
Leicester tracks. Our thanks go to the NW Leicester Society
for making our member so welcome and for a most enjoyable day. |
