On Saturday 12 September 2015 members visited the private Statfold Barn Railway.  The Statfold Barn Railway is an extensive multi-gauge private railway near Tamworth. It is home to an extensive collection of historic steam, diesel and electric locomotives from Britain and overseas. Although the railway is not open to the public, a number of “Enthusiasts’ Days” are held each year and interested enthusiasts may apply for an invitation to one of these events. At most Open Days Statfold’s own locomotives are joined by one or two interesting visitors from other railways. Locomotives from the Statfold collection also make occasional appearances on various heritage railways around Britain and at major model railway exhibitions and other special events.
