group based in Whittington, Staffordshire, UK, where students enjoy
exploring all kinds of exciting textile |

The group started primarily, as a means of filling the void left by the withdrawal of funds from C&G college courses. It is tutor led and students are encouraged to explore and experiment within the world of textile art, in a friendly and stress free environment. The members involve themselves with many aspects of textile art and related techniques, developing their own style and producing original pieces. The ability to embrace new ideas and have the confidence to create something unique is challenging, more so, as we enter our retirement years. This group enjoys the support of like-minded people who aren’t afraid to push the boundaries and ask, WHAT IF ? We colour and distress, incorporate lots of mixed media, machine and hand stitching. We heat, melt and distort fabrics, paper and metal. As a group we enjoy exploring new and innovative techniques, and whilst a finished piece is our goal, it is the journey that is most important.
